Dripstone

Perhaps it was the sound of all the rain, or maybe it was just time, but Ken soon needed to make the dash to the nearby restroom building. As he was standing there, waiting for the rain to end, he decided to photograph this nearby dripstone. Dripstones were pretty common in the past and used as a way to filter water via seepage through the limestone. This one only had a single level anymore, but K+V had seen a three level on the previous day at the George Washington House. Ken did not attempt to get a closer shot due to: 1) the pouring rain, and 2) the bird nesting on the top of the dripstone. In post processing, Ken did his best to remove the car that was in the background but left the bird.
