Since they were kind of out that direction anyway Ken decided to head to the former location of Sam Lord’s Castle. Sam was a pirate notorious for putting up misleading lanterns and luring ships on to the reefs just off-shore so he could plunder them. When Ken had visited Barbados in his young teens Sam Lord’s Castle had been a hotel and THE PLACE to stay. It burned down in October 2010 but reportedly was being rebuilt. Ken and Virginia never did find the exact spot. But then again given the atrocious roads they didn’t really look that hard after the GPS announced arrival. Instead they contented themselves with viewing the rocky coast.
